Determining the minimal background area for species distribution models: MinBAR package

چکیده
One of the crucial choices when modelling species distributions using pseudo-absences and background approaches is delineation area to fit model. We hypothesise that there a minimum around geographical centre distribution characterises well enough range environmental conditions needed by survive. Thus, fitting model within this should be optimal solution in terms both quality execution time. MinBAR an R package calculates means sequentially several concentric models (SDMs) until satisfactory included metrics reached. The version 1.1.2 implemented for MaxEnt (using either maxnet or original java program) uses Boyce Index as metric assess performance. Three case studies are presented test hypothesis package's functionality. show how partial trained with part often perform equal better than those fitted on entire extent. versatile tool helps modellers objectively define solution.

Species-area relationship for power-law species abundance distribution
We studied the mathematical relations between species abundance distributions (SADs) and species-area relationships (SARs) and found that a power-law SAR can be generally derived from a power-law SAD without a special assumption such as the “canonical hypothesis”. In the present analysis, an SAR-exponent is obtained as a function of an SAD-exponent for a finite number of species. We also studie...
متن کاملDeveloping a Minimal Pairs’ Package for Persian-speaking Children: A Preliminary Study
Objectives: Different treatment approaches have been introduced for children with Speech Sound Disorders (SSD). Minimal pair intervention, Metaphon therapy, and parents and children together approach as linguistically-based approaches are routinely utilized in this population and both of them shared minimal pairs as a common component. The purpose of the current study was to develop and investi...
متن کاملDetermining the Loci of Anomalies Using Minimal Causal Models
Any attempt to introduce automation into the monitoring of complex physical systems must start from a robust anomaly detection capability. This task is far from straightforward, for a single definition of what constitutes an anomaly is difficult to come by. In addition, to make the monitoring process efficient, and to avoid the potential for information overload on human operators, attention fo...
متن کاملSpecies-free species distribution models describe macroecological properties of protected area networks
Among the greatest challenges facing the conservation of plants and animal species in protected areas are threats from a rapidly changing climate. An altered climate creates both challenges and opportunities for improving the management of protected areas in networks. Increasingly, quantitative tools like species distribution modeling are used to assess the performance of protected areas and pr...
متن کاملGendist: An R Package for Generated Probability Distribution Models
In this paper, we introduce the R package gendist that computes the probability density function, the cumulative distribution function, the quantile function and generates random values for several generated probability distribution models including the mixture model, the composite model, the folded model, the skewed symmetric model and the arc tan model. These models are extensively used in th...
